Student Course Feedback for Admins & Staff

The Student Course Feedback (SCF) program is managed out of the Martha Bradley Evans Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE). We use Blue by Explorance to collect course feedback and distribute reports to students, instructors, and departments.

In Spring 2021, the University implemented a new standardized student course feedback instrument. The Academic Senate approved the instrument in April 2019 for use on all credit-bearing courses.

What’s Changing?

Starting Summer 2025, Student Course Feedback will be delivered through Qualtrics. This new system offers streamlined dashboards for monitoring response rates, accessing results, and supporting review processes.

  • Admins and staff will log in via SSO to access results

  • Dashboards will display feedback from Summer 2025 onward

  • Feedback collected in Blue (Spring 2024 – Summer 2025) will also be included

  • Historical feedback (Spring 2021 – Fall 2023) will be added to existing Box archives

Your dashboard access is tied to your department or college and will allow you to:

  • Monitor response rates across units

  • Download reports by course or instructor

  • Support RPT, TFR, and other faculty review processes

Accessing Past Feedback

  • Feedback from Spring 2024 – Summer 2025 (Blue) will appear in Qualtrics

  • Feedback from Spring 2021 – Fall 2023 is being added to the Box folders your department already uses for SCF reports (2007–2020)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Who has admin access to SCF results?
Access is based on department or college-level roles. Contact us if someone in your unit needs access.

Will the reports change with Qualtrics?
The core structure will remain, but formatting and access methods will be updated. We’ll share new templates and walkthroughs.

Can I still get feedback from courses before 2021?
Yes. Reports from 2007–2020 are in your department’s Box archive. Email scf@utah.edu for help.

What if an instructor doesn’t appear in my dashboard?
Dashboard access is based on PeopleSoft roles. Let us know if something looks off.

Senate Advisory Committee on Student Course Feedback (SACSCF)

The SACSCF designed, and will revise as needed, a standardized “Student Course Feedback Instrument” and a standardized “Course Feedback Report” suitable for use in all credit-bearing courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
