Student Course Feedback
Announcement & Assignment Templates
Increase your Student Course Feedback response rates by utilizing some approaches near the end of the course. Instructors across the campus have used reminders, non-graded assignments, and other techniques to increase student engagement.
General Guidelines
You can incorporate Student Course Feedback into announcements, discussion boards, and assignments at the end of the course. Here are some general guidelines to help you get started.
- Direct students through reminders or discussion boards to https://scf.utah.edu to complete the survey. Students can find help here.
- Tell students what you do with their feedback and why it is important. Direct them to our Student Guidelines for Course Feedback.
- Integrate the Student Course Feedback in a general reflection activity near the end of the semester.
- If you want to offer extra credit, consider setting a response rate goal of 70-75%. If the class reaches the goal, you can give everyone extra credit. Learn how to check response rates here. AVOID asking students to tell you whether they submitted feedback. Student Course Feedback is confidential at the University of Utah.
